AdvoCare Day 1

Hey y'all! It's my birthday!
...And instead of eating CAKE, I'm eating healthy stuff.
Wooo, go me!

This morning I woke up about 45 minutes earlier than usual so I could get started on my Advocare 24 day cleanse. I'm just going to jump right into how I had my day planned out.

6:30 - Spark & Catalyst
(click on either of those words to find out what exactly they are!)

7:30 - Breakfast
I mixed my Fiber drink with some orange juice & water to thin it down some and it tasted just like pulpy orange juice - which I happen to love! I also had some fruit that I let soak in a little lemon juice last night, 1/2 cup of whole grain oatmeal with one packet of Splenda, and two boiled eggs. This is obviously a big breakfast, but the instructions suggest you have fruit, protein (eggs), and a complex carb (oatmeal) within the meal so this is whats recommended, not just me pigging out!
Whoa. That's a whoppin' big breakfast! I seriously couldn't finish it all!
 10:30 ish: Snack time!
I had some almonds with sea salt & a banana... oh yeah, and water.
(I believe my pee count was at about 6 at this point. TMI?)
Simple but very filling!
 1:15 - Lunch
I fixed a BIG yummy salad with tomatoes, spinach, sugar snap peas, onions, 1 boiled egg, diced butternut squash, and grilled chicken. I added some oil & vinegar dressing and it was perfect! I had everything pre-packaged in the fridge so it was an easy fix and no time was wasted trying to prepare it.
4:15 - Snack & Spark.
I chose to have my second Spark for the day at this time so I can come home from work, get a little energy boost and maybe be productive in the house (Pshh, yeah right!)

7 - Dinner
I knew I would be at my parent's house at this time so I packed my little Gladware up and took my food with me so I could stay on track! I had two pieces of salmon and some peas. I really could have been more creative with my meal but I'm trying to use the foods that I have on hand without wasting so peas is was!

Did I mention it's my birthday? ...and did I mention I didn't eat any of MY cake that {{Heather}} made for me?! This was a really hard decision because she makes the absolute best cakes ever but I'm totally committed to do this challenge as close to 100% as possible so... no cake!

9 - last snack of the day
Again, I knew I wouldn't be at home so I packed my snack with me.
Carrots, baby tomatoes & Supremely Spicy Hummus <3

Bedtime - Herbal Cleanse supplement & Catalyst

Well day 1 is over and it went great! I'm so glad I took the time to plan and organize everything ahead of time, otherwise today would have been tough. I was never hungry throughout the today... if anything, there were many moments when I was super full.

Happy Monday!

And so it begins...

Even thought we've had the most beautiful weather here in Kentucky today, I've spent my time inside, sitting at my kitchen table. I've made lists, schedules, meal prepped, etc. and done everything I know to do to prepare myself for the Advocare 24 day challenge. Although I've probably gained 5 pounds this weekend enjoying every food in sight, I'm actually very excited to start this little adventure!

I had originally planned to wait until Tuesday so {{Ashley}} and I could start together but I'm so excited and impatient so I have to start tomorrow!

This has been my view all day!

Getting my salmon ready!

Excuse my mess of a fridge but it is cram packed with CLEAN food!
Except for that NY Style Cheesecake I found 5 minutes ago that the husband obviously snuck in from WalMart last night.
Good thing he didn't put the lid on tight... it got a little crusty. Otherwise I probably would have ate it!

I know this is sideways and I have no idea how to fix it now but this is what one day of the challenge looks like for me. I've written down WHEN & WHAT needs to be consumed throughout the day. I've made a sheet like this for each day of the challenge so I can stay organized & on track.

I came across this today and just had to repost it on Instagram. This is my new rule of eating better.
No diet - just eat food that's good for you!

I'll be back tomorrow to recap my Day 1 of the challenge =)

Advocare Spark Review!

So this morning I replaced my coffee with an Advocare Spark energy drink. I tried the mango strawberry flavor and it tasted great! It tasted nothing like your typical energy drink and more like a crystal light drink mix.

I really like this stuff! Usually when I skip my coffee I'll get a horrible headache by lunch time but so far I feel great. Honestly, I'm not jumping off the walls with energy, maybe because I'm used to having A LOT of caffeine from coffee every morning. I think I will definitely continue using the Spark... mainly because it is good for you and has nutrients that coffee doesn't have PLUS it won't make my teeth yellow like coffee.

I just mixed the package up with a bottle of water and drank it as I got ready for work this morning.

The reason I sampled the Spark is because I'm almost certain that I'm going to begin the {{Advocare 24 day challenge}} soon! Click on that link to find more information about it. You focus on eating clean foods in order to rid your body of all the preservatives and toxins built up. At the same time, this line of products give you energy and motivation, all while you shed some weight. From what I understand, it's a detox/cleanse for your body but if you fall in love with the products, you can continue to use them as long as you'd like. Find out more about the science behind the products{{here}}.

Tomorrow night I'm going to a little local Advocare party to get more acquainted with the products and make sure I want to invest in the challenge. Let me know if you would like more information or would like to join me in the challenge!
